Moss pole anchor
Locks the pole to the pot and carries its weight. The code pairs pole size with pot diameter.
A pole pushed into the substrate leans the moment the plant puts on weight, and straightening it means tearing the roots that have grown around it. The anchor locks it mechanically to the pot: the plant's weight ends up on the anchor and the container rather than on the substrate, and the structure stays put from day one.
The code says two things: the letter is the pole size, the number is the top diameter of the pot in centimetres. M16 means an M pole in a 16 cm pot. This is not a rough guide — the pieces interlock, and the wrong code will not hold.
Two limits to know before buying. First: when you add an anchor you have to go up a pot size, four to eight centimetres more in diameter, because the anchor, the roots and the substrate all have to fit in there. Second: it is made for Classic D-shaped poles and ordinary pots — it does NOT work with self-watering pots or with front-opening poles.
It should be fitted from the start of training. Forcing an anchor onto an already large plant rarely works: better to take cuttings.

Specifications
- Function
- Locks the pole to the pot and carries its weight
- Code
- Letter = pole size · number = pot top Ø in cm
- Compatible with
- Classic D-shaped poles and standard aroid pots
- NOT compatible with
- Self-watering pots and front-opening poles
- Pot
- Go up 4–8 cm in diameter when adding an anchor
- Closing position
- Fixed: M2, L3, XL3 — not a choice
- When to fit it
- From the start: on a mature plant it rarely works
- Pieces
- Single anchor
How to use it
Pick the code for the plant you will have, not the one you have now, and buy the pot to match. Close the pole in the position the anchor requires — M2, L3 or XL3 — otherwise it will not align and will stay unstable.
