XL moss pole system
The same system in the large size, for a mature specimen that really has to climb.
The version for plants that have already passed a metre and keep going: a 60 cm pole, XL28 anchor and XL3 dripper, in a 28 cm, 12-litre pot. It is the combination that holds a mature Monstera or a large-leaved Philodendron without the pole bowing forward under the weight of the foliage.
The pole sections stack: when the plant reaches the top you add another above instead of redoing the whole thing.

How it goes together
- Choose the closing position before filling: the XL has four, and the XL28 anchor goes on the closed side.
- Fill with 2–3 litres of damp moss pole mix, or 70–110 grams of rehydrated and wrung-out sphagnum. On a 60 cm pole compaction matters: moss pole mix resists the vertical load, potting soil does not.
- Clip the anchor onto the rim of the 28 cm pot and slot the pole in before the plant. At this size the pole goes in while the pot is empty: afterwards you cannot reach.
- Pot up in 12 litres of substrate, tie the stems and sit the XL3 dripper on top.
- When the plant reaches the top you add a module above instead of redoing everything: the poles stack, and that is why a mature specimen wants this size rather than two M poles in a row.
