Equipment for tropical plants
Clear and self-watering pots, loose substrates, moss poles, HESI fertilisers and propagators. These are the same materials we use in the nursery in Ferrara: since 2026 we are PlantScraper resellers and we ship them across Italy.
Pots
Pots you can see into. Roots can be checked without repotting, the side slits give them oxygen, and the anti-spiral structure stops them circling instead of heading down.
- Self-watering pot with clear insert — Outer pot with reservoir, removable clear insert, and a cotton wick included. from €1.95
- Self-watering aroid pot — Clear pot with a built-in, removable reservoir, eight rows of slits and an anti-spiral structure. from €2.45
- Anti-spiralling aroid pot — The classic clear pot: ventilated, free-draining, anti-spiral. It is the base of the climbing system. from €1.25
- First plant kit — Pot, substrate, feed and pipette: open the box and repot. €29.32
- First plant kit · semi-hydro — The same kit without soil: self-watering pot, mineral mix, wick and hydroponic feed. €35.96
Substrates
The same components we use in our own mixes, in the same grades. 8.5-litre bags: the size you need to repot a collection, not a single pot.
- Premium aroid mix 8.5 L — Ready-made aroid mix, peat-free, in two grades: Essential and Supreme. from €19.95
- Semi-hydro mineral mix 8.5 L — Inorganic substrate of pumice, zeolite and lava rock. It does not break down or compact. €19.95
- Coarse perlite 8.5 L — Coarse expanded volcanic glass, 5–15 mm: air to the roots without holding water. €17.95
- Orchiata bark 8.5 L — Aged, heat-treated New Zealand pine bark, 12–18 mm. €19.95
- Chilean long-fibre sphagnum 300 g — Chilean long-fibre sphagnum up to 15 cm, sustainably harvested. 300 g yields 10–12 litres. €24.95
- Moss pole mix 8.5 L — Premium sphagnum, coco husk chips and garden lime: the blend that goes inside the pole. €24.95
- Aroid repotting set — 18 cm pot, aroid mix, and coarse perlite to adjust it as you like. €37.68
Moss poles
A system, not a stick: the pole supports, the anchor holds it steady in the pot without drilling, the dripper keeps it damp from above. Aerial roots really do go into it.
- D-shaped moss pole — crystal clear — Modular D-section pole, crystal finish. A rooting surface, not a stick. from €4.45
- Moss pole anchor — Locks the pole to the pot and carries its weight. The code pairs pole size with pot diameter. from €10.60
- Moss pole dripper — Mounts on top of the pole and waters its full height. It is rapid, not slow-release. from €2.95
- M moss pole system — The pole, the anchor that keeps it upright, the dripper that waters it, and the pot it is sized for. €24.34
- XL moss pole system — The same system in the large size, for a mature specimen that really has to climb. €47.84
Watering
Capillary action: the water rises on its own, the substrate stays damp and never sodden. It is how a collection survives a week away.
- Self-watering wick — Polyester cord that carries water from the reservoir to the substrate by capillary action. from €1.45
Feeding
The Dutch HESI line, formulated for hydroponics and semi-hydro. Concentrated: dosed in millilitres, and one bottle lasts a whole season.
- HESI HousePlant Elixir — Complete low-salt NPK 4-2-3 feed for every houseplant. from €10.95
- HESI Root Complex — Root booster and recovery tonic for cuttings, young plants and repotting. from €24.95
- HESI PowerZyme — Enzyme complex from Trichoderma viride: breaks down dead roots and keeps the substrate clean. from €16.95
- HESI Hydro Growth 1 L — NPK 3-2-4 feed for the vegetative stage in hydroponics and inert substrates. €14.95
- HESI SuperVit 10 ml — Ultra-concentrated biostimulant with 25 vitamins, amino acids and vital substances. Dosed in drops. €14.95
- Semi-hydro feeding — The four HESI products that work together in semi-hydro, plus two pipettes to measure them. €64.00
Propagators
The closed microclimate in which a cutting roots in three weeks instead of eight. Tall dome, adjustable vents, removable trays.
- Propagator S — Tabletop greenhouse with adjustable vents, for a few cuttings or a small sowing. from €4.45
- Propagator XL — Forty individual pots on two removable trays, a tall dome with two vents, and a watertight base. from €13.95
- Propagation bench — Forty pots, the sphagnum to fill them, the root booster and the pipettes to dose it. €73.60
- Rooting kit — The tabletop propagator, the sphagnum to root in, the root booster and the pipettes. €49.75
Tools
The small things without which the rest does not work: measuring fertiliser by eye is the most common way to burn a set of roots.
- Graduated pipette — Graduated pipette for measuring concentrated feeds instead of guessing. from €0.45
