HESI Root Complex

Root booster and recovery tonic for cuttings, young plants and repotting.

HESI Root Complex

It is not a fertiliser: it is what you give when roots have to form or recover. Micronutrients, vitamins, amino acids and vital substances that speed up rooting in unrooted cuttings and build sturdy stems alongside the roots.

But it is also a recovery tonic, and that is the less obvious use: after repotting, transport or transplanting the plant is under stress, and this helps it through by improving the internal communication between roots and leaves. It works both as prevention and as first aid on a weakened plant.

That communication matters more than it sounds. The engine that pulls water and nutrition up is not in the roots but in the leaves: transpiration creates the suction, and the plant controls what leaves it, not what enters. Under stress its first defence is to close the stomata, and at that point the flow stops: the plant wilts with the substrate wet. Too much fertiliser does the same, and produces deficiency symptoms in a substrate full of nutrients.

The dose is 50 ml per 10 litres of water, that is 5 ml per litre. For long-term or frequent use, halve it. It is compatible with any fertiliser or booster.

How to use it

In the rooting water for cuttings, and in the first waterings after repotting or transport. A plant wilting with a wet substrate needs this more than it needs feed: that is stress, not hunger. If you use it continuously, halve the dose.
